To ensure an effective technical implementation of the project, establishing and maintaining scientific excellence and securing the achievement of the scientific objectives and impacts of the project.

Promote SE and CB of end-users and relevant stakeholders facilitating active exchanges benefitting the service and the end-product. In particular, the actions will be geared towards enhancing collaboration with national marine coastal actors. As holders, the strategy will involve specific activities to demonstrate the practical application of the service. An important aspect of this stakeholder engagement and CB strategy is to foster the uptake of the service aligned with the pertinent EU Directives.  

Improvement of the existing coastal operational oceanography system  developed in MARION project (ThinkInAzul, https://thinkinazul.es/), that will be the base for the Use Cases developed in WP4 and WP5. As result, this WP will provide: i) [CANTABRIA-OCFS] - Cantabria Operational Coastal Forecast System: a coastal modelling system for the Cantabrian coast. Ii) [SANTANDER-OEFS] - Santander Operational Estuary Forecast System: an estuarine modelling system for Santander Bay and the Port of Santander.

The main objective of WP4 is the development of the Use Case 1 Service: An operational coastal service to support maritime surveillance and law enforcement on Cantabria’s coast (North of Spain) (SEMAR DSS). Use Case 1 (SEMAR DSS) will provide a maritime and environmental service to support: i) safety navigation; ii) combat illegal pollution; iii) fight against accidental pollution, and iv) support search operations.

The main objective of WP5 is the development of the Use Case 2 Service: An early warning system for FLOODding risk prevention in PORT facilities located in estuaries (FLOODPORT Service). Use Case 2  will provide a comprehensive climate service to develop an early warning system and forecast flooding events in the Bay of Santander (Cantabria’s coast), and especially in port’ facilities (Port of Santander) and concessionary companies.

This WP ensures broad project visibility for effective co-design, development, testing, validation, uptake, and exploitation of the results.
